The week leading up to Ferragosto we decided to head to our cottage near Rieti with my in-laws and hubby’s extended family. If you’ve ever been to Rome in August, you already know it’s insanely hot and humid and Rome becomes a ghost town. We decided to beat the heat and spend some quality family time before the rush of September kicks us all back into gear.

Our neighbour just down the road happens to be cousins with my mother-in-law. The two elderly sisters (Ella and Edda) are well into their 80’s and have this cute little garden, so we asked if we could take some pictures.

Dress: Forever21

This dress is light-weight and has a semi zip-up enclosure on the back. The shoulder straps are also adjustable.  It’s the perfect dress for a hot summer’s day.
